Social media went into a frenzy, claiming that the retailer was racist as the advert described black hair as damaged and dry and white hair as normal. Clicks has since issued an apology and removed the offending images from social media.

“We are all human beings and we are fighting against racism,” one of the EFF members told HERAUT.

“We believe that there should be equal opportunities for all, irrespective of race. Our members will this week be visiting all Clicks stores nationwide,” another member concluded.
