More than 700 entries for neon night walk in Nigel
Food stalls, a beer garden, and various prizes for among others, best dressed added to the fun.
NIGEL – The committee members of I love Nigel, together with the community, is not only renewing the beauty of the town with their clean up projects on Saturdays but also ensure that events arranged in support of their initiative bring fun to family, kids and animals.
On Friday, November 27 more than 700 people joined the neon night walk in support of the I love Nigel initiatives. People dressed in bright neon colours, paid a small entrance fee as they gathered at John Vorster Stadium and literally painted the streets of Nigel in neon.
“It was an amazing event, we only expected 150 people and was overwhelmed with more than 700 entries who joined in the fun and at the same time support us in our drive to clean up our town,” Aileen Ceronio said.

“The funds that were generated through this event will be allocated towards our #ilovenigel projects to keep Nigel clean an maintained. Creating a beautiful town for the people by the people. Together, we as Nigelites will see this town transform from glory to glory, built on the foundation of hope, faith and love. All the proceeds will go towards repairing our town,” Aileen said.
“I am so very proud to be a Nigelite. The spirit and commitment to this event was truly amazing. The city of Nigel is totally blessed,” Roche Pepler said.
The rain did not damper the enthusiasm as old and young walked with bright neon colours determined to support a good cause.
“With this great mentality, I see a bright future for the City of Nigel.” Aileen concluded.
