Heidelberg SAPS’ Constable Doris Nkosi (crime prevention), along with members of the Victim-Friendly Room and Alpha Trauma visited the youth at Corner Stone Christian Church on June 16.
The aim was to sensitise them to the impact of drugs, narcotics, drug addiction and gender-based violence (GBV).
The Heidelberg SAPS station commander, Colonel Phiwe Ndwandwe, saw the need to educate the community on the pitfalls of drugs and how they impact the community.
“Keeping our community safe is a key role that gives us more reason why we should always visit the disadvantaged people, provide them with information that will assist them as they try to shape back their lives,” Ndwandwe said.
The Heidelberg SAPS plans to continue visiting places at this time of year to share information.

“As the Heidelberg SAPS, we say ‘no’ to violence against women and children and will continue to give the victims of GBV and drug addiction the necessary support and assistance,” concluded Nkosi.
