Ermelo athletes take on Kosmos 3-in-1 Challenge in Secunda
This event is perfect for athletes getting ready to compete in the Comrades Marathon.

Andries Koekemoer and Cicille Erasmus of the Ermelo Athletic Club recently took on the tough Kosmos 3-in-1 race in Secunda.
The race comprises three challenging distances, a 42.2 km marathon at 06:00, followed by a 21.1 km half-marathon at 13:00, and concluding with a 10 km run at 17:00.
This event is perfect for athletes preparing for the Comrades Marathon, offering a gruelling yet rewarding experience.

“Our legs were sore, and the heat was intense. At about 13:00, temperatures had already reached 30°C. But the race was excellently planned, with well-stocked water points throughout,” Koekemoer said. It was his first time taking part.
For Erasmus, this was her second time taking on the 73.3km challenge. Despite the long day, they completed the race together in 9:07:35 and 9:07:37, pushing through the fatigue.
Reflecting on their accomplishment, they attributed their success to faith, with Andries saying, “With Jesus, we made it. All glory to Him.”
