Farmers are invited to the DARDLA
The local summit for the districts’ summits will be held

ERMELO – The Department of Agriculture Rural Development and Land Administration (Dardla) will be hosting mini land summits in the districts which will be used as a build-up to gather inputs from key local stakeholders to be used to address core issues during the Provincial Summit.
The Mpumalanga Province Land Summit is planned in order to open dialogue for the challenges faced by the land reform beneficiaries in the districts.
The overall priority is to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for rural development that is aimed at improving the quality of life of rural households, enhance food security through a broader base of agricultural production and exploit the economic potential that each region enjoys.
After all four districts have held their mini summits, there will be a provincial summit and its main objective be will to turn around land reform farms and to improve productivity through developing a comprehensive and sustainable strategy at a date that is still to be announced.
The local summit for the districts’ summits will be held as follows:
Gert Sibande and Msukaligwa Municipality on 16 October at the Msukaligwa Civic Centre in Ermelo at 8am.
Aspirant and dispossessed farmers and those who have a small portion of land, especially those farming in communal land holding PTO and RTO communities benefited through different land programmes and those with access to land but having poor means of farming the land, landowners who are underutilising their land to release a portion of their land to intended benefit and farm dwellers are invited.
