VIDEO – Three people killed in two Ermelo shootings days apart

SAPS confirmed separate murder and attempted murder cases following shootings in Oosthuise Street on August 21 and 23.

ERMELO – Three people have been killed in two separate shooting incidents in Oosthuise Street, Ermelo, on August 21 and August 23.

According to provincial SAPS spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo, police are investigating murder and attempted murder cases following the two incidents.

One person was shot and killed on August 21.

On August 23, two people were shot and killed, while a third person was injured.

A video of one of the incidents has been circulating online.

The footage shows two men talking before they separate.

Moments later, one of the men appears to run from someone chasing him and grabs the same man he had been speaking to just seconds earlier, seemingly in an attempt to shield himself from the person pursuing him.

The two then lose their balance and fall to the ground.

Seconds later, a man enters the frame with what appears to be a firearm pointed at the man who had been running.

It is unclear from the footage whether he fires the weapon.

The alleged gunman then runs out of frame.

Another individual, also armed, enters the frame and points a firearm at the man on the ground before firing several shots

The motives for the shootings have not been confirmed, and no arrests have been made.
