ANC and Sanco repair houses
Members of the ANC and Sanco have begun restoring houses affected by the storm.
eMZINONI – The ANC, in conjunction with Sanco, reached out to residents who were affected by the storm on Monday, 7 October. Several houses were destroyed leaving residents in disarray.
Mr Bafana Ndinisa, ANC ward councillor, along with members of Sanco, lead the operation to restore the roofs of three households affected.
He said the Govan Mbeki Municipality has also embarked on a restoration campaign to help affected residents.
“Because several houses were destroyed, we felt it would be good to begin with our own restoration project to shorten the waiting period for the affected residents.”
Mr Ndinisa, as well as some of the labourers, personally donated building material for the renovation process.
He urged residents of eMzinoni to contribute as well to get people affected by the storm, back on their feet.
