Good luck to all Grade 12 pupils.

The Govan Mbeki Municipal executive mayor, Ms Lindi Masina, calls upon all Grade 12 pupils to approach the exams with enthusiasm and confidence.

It is yet again the period of the matric examinations which began on 28 October.

Our beloved matriculants have been preparing for these examinations from January.

We would like to take this opportunity and wish them all the best.

We would like to call upon all of them to approach these exams with enthusiasm and confidence, because they have had ample time to prepare and the fact that there were no serious disruptions to schooling this time around.

We believe that if all our schools, especially the township schools, could be run without disruptions and stoppages and with effective and diligent management, our matric results could be remarkably improved.

As parents across the colour lines, we should stand up and play a positive role in the education of our children because these children are definitely the leaders of tomorrow.

We believe that the Class of 2013 will raise the bar even higher and achieve more colourful results.

We really appreciate your positive attitude towards education and this indicates your consciousness about the essence of education in changing your circumstances for the better.

In line with the spirit and philosophy of the Dawn of the New Age, we are called upon to rise and play a role in the education sector which calls for a wide range of imperatives which include among others the re-instillation of the culture of learning and teaching in all our schools.

As President Zuma would say, pupils must always be in class learning and teachers must always be in class teaching.
