Summerfield Primary School’s annual Go-Kart and Grade 7 Market Day was a great success on August 26, with learners enjoying an exciting day of go-karting, games, tasty treats and plenty of school spirit.
The event brought learners and teachers together for a day filled with friendly competition and excitement, while the Grade 7 learners kept everyone well fed with a variety of delicious food and refreshing drinks.
Teyhana Laloo (Grade R) was named the learner who returned the most completed forms, with 11 forms submitted.
For her outstanding effort, Teyhana received a R600 PNA voucher as well as a processed sheep.
The classes that raised the most income were Grade 1 and Grade 4, who shared first place.
As their reward, both classes received pizza and caramel éclairs.
Grade R was named the runner-up class and will also be rewarded for its efforts. The learners will enjoy a fun day.
The competition continued on the go-kart track, where the yellow team emerged as the winners after completing the most rounds.
The winning team celebrated with caramel éclairs and ice cream.
The Grade 7 learners were also rewarded for their hard work in making the event possible, with each learner receiving a chocolate as a special thank-you.
No learner was left out of the celebrations, with all learners receiving a caramel éclair during break.
The school extended a special thank you to teacher Manda Labuschagne for organising the event, as well as to all the teachers for their hard work, enthusiasm and support throughout the day, and also expressed its gratitude to the sponsors who helped make the event possible.
