Rains in Mpumalanga have affected driving conditions on most roads in the province. Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe has called on motorists to drive with care.

With similar rains predicted to continue in some parts of Mpumalanga, motorists are urged to exercise extreme care and due diligence on the roads.

“Motorists need to prioritise their own safety by ensuring that wipers are working properly, maintaining safe following distance and ensuring that tyres are in good condition,” warned Mr Shongwe.

Motorists are further warned against excessive speeding in wet weather and crossing overflowing streams and rivers.
