GS College celebrates Youth Day

Different groups entertained the audience and Thulasizwe Tomo from the ANCYL gave a message of support.

Students from Gert Sibande FET College celebrated the 38th Youth Day with drama and musical performances at the Ermelo campus.
Blessing Sibanda, the SRC director of Public Relations, told the Highvelder that the aim of their celebrations was to remind the youth of the sacrifices made by their heroes and to encourage them to take their studies seriously as education remains an important aspect of freedom.
Different groups entertained the audience and Thulasizwe Tomo from the ANCYL gave a message of support.
In his address, Thulasizwe said that economic freedom without education is meaningless. He also highlighted that the only way to show appreciation to fallen heroes is to take advantage of studying opportunities.
“As the Youth League, we support every initiative that encourages studying and with you as future leaders you need to align yourselves accordingly and education is part of it,” advised Thulasizwe.
