Operation FIYELA sweeps Ermelo

Scores of illegal immigrants and drug users have been arrested in Ermelo during the Provincial Operation Fiyela.

The joint operational effort between the SANDF, SAPS, Dog Unit, Home Affairs, Military Police, Local Traffic Department and the Provincial Traffic Intervention Unit targeted Ermelo CBD and certain hot-pots in Wesselton.

Random stop and search operations were also conducted where civilians with in possession of dangerous weapons were also arrested.
