Passengers warned nor disturb drivers

The passenger has since been arrested and charged with malicious damage to property and common assault.

Passengers of public Transport have been warned not to distract drivers while they are operating vehicles.

The warning by Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe comes after a crash a bus crash on the R40 road between Baberton and Mbombela.

It is alleged that the bus driver was distracted by a passenger after realizing the bus did not stop at his stop and the passenger ass a result the passenger assaulted the driver while the bus was moving. The driver lost control of the bus and it plunged into a tree.

The passenger has since been arrested and charged with malicious damage to property and common assault.
