A Christmas message from Ermelo Station Commander
"Let us continue to join forces and fight crime. I wish to thank each and every person for their support . Together, we will make a difference to crime in Ermelo."
The South African Police Service as well as the community have faced many challenges the past year.
Our community suffered the loss of beloved friends and family members as a result of murder, accidents and drownings as well as the loss of property and hard earned money due to theft, house breaking and robberies.
In spite of these challenges, the community joined hands with the local police to fight back against the criminal elements operating in Ermelo.
The co-operation and support of community members, the Community Policing Forum and sub structures, the business community, neighbourhood and farm watch, security companies and other government departments resulted in a positive impact on crime in Ermelo: Armed robberies at businesses decreased significantly and perpetrators of crime have been arrested and brought to book.
The was the reward for hard work and dedication from the SAPS, various role players such as the neighbourhood and farmwatch, various state departments, the local media (radio and newspapers) as well as the community of Ermelo. You all contributed to the success in fighting crime and bringing criminals to justice.
The South African Police Service, Ermelo, has been privileged to receive the following awards during the Annual Award ceremony hosted by the MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison: The best performing station in Mpumalanga, the best performing station with a female station commander, the best performing station at the level of Brigadier/Colonel and the runner up in terms of the performance by the Community Policing Forum.
These awards were the reward for hard work by the police as well as members of our community, the business community, security sector and structures such as the CPF and neighbourhood watch.
“Let us continue to join forces and fight crime. I wish to thank each and every person for their support . Together we will make a difference to crime in Ermelo.
