The Department of Basic Education is calling on all learners who did not pass last year’s National Senior Certificate (NSC) to try again this year through the specially designed Second Chance Matric Support Programme (SCMSP).
The programme is aimed at providing support to learners who did not meet the requirements of the NSC or the extended Senior Certificate (SC). Learners who would like to take advantage of this opportunity must contact their nearest Education District Offices before 15 March to register to write the November 2017 examinations.

The programme will support the learners in a number of innovative ways to adequately prepare them for the examinations. There are face-to-face classes that would be offered by Grade 12 teachers with excellent track record.
These classes will be available at 50 venues, mainly in rural and semi-rural areas and nationally for June and November examinations only.
