Anti-rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will be done at various points in Ermelo on Monday, 4 March and Tuesday, 5 March.
These injections will be available at Ermelo Civic Centre from 11am to 5pm.
Residents are requested to make use of this service and in so doing help to prevent the spread of rabies.
The times for Wesselton are from 12.30pm to 5pm.
The points for Monday, 11 March are Wesselton Park, Mkhomo’s Tavern and Mangethe’s Complex.
The vets will be available on Tuesday, 12 March at Wesselton Primary School (Thusi), Thembisa Complex (Ezitoro), and KaShodo Nkosi (KaBasi) and on Wednesday, 13 March at Tubelihle Daycare, Nathi Tuckshop and Thulandlela Complex (Madamini).
Rabies is a viral disease that causes acute inflammation of the brain in warm-blooded animals. It is transmitted by animals, most commonly by a bite from an infected animal but occasionally by other forms of contact. The virus is shed in the saliva of the infected animal.
