Muddy conditions cause of delay in the fixing of the slipway in Church Street

According to Msukaligwa Municipality spokesman, Mr Mandla Zwane a pipe burst occurred in the slipway and the first back fill was done on 12 March.

The slipway at the Church and Voortrekker Avenue intersection has been fixed after about three months.

According to Msukaligwa Municipality spokesman, Mr Mandla Zwane, a pipe burst occurred in the slipway and the first backfill was done on 12 March.

“No rain for the past two weeks assisted to keep the hole from filling with water.

Municipal workers drained water that was in the hole and construction began on 9 May,” Mr Zwane said.

He added that leakages on the pipes, frequent rain as well as a leak on the sprinkler system, kept the hole filled with water thus creating muddy conditions that prevented them from completing the slipway.
