The Highvelder published an article ‘Community speak up about problems with their RDP’s’ on 27 September.
Residents from Ext 5 Wesselton have several construction problems with their RDP houses.
The Highvelder sent media inquiries to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman from Msukaligwa Municipality.
Mr Zwane responded: “Motheo Construction Company is the main contractor for the RDP’s appointed by Mpumalanga Department of Human Settlements.
“The company then sub-contracted local contractors.”
According to Mr Zwane, if any problems are reported with the construction of RDP’s, the construction company is supposed to resolve the issue immediately or before handing it over to the beneficiary.
