ERMELO – A coal truck overturned on the road from Ermelo to Piet Retief on September 20.

According to a paramedic, who was on the scene, the accident took place about 35km outside Ermelo at around 20:30.

He said the driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries.

“They were both treated on the scene and transported to Ermelo Provincial Hospital by ER24 and Ermelo EMS,” he said.

The Sheepmoore police, Mskualigwa Fire and Rescue Services, EMS and ER24 were on the scene.

He said the truck and its trailers sustained extensive damage and the payload was spread across the road.
