Husband and wife from Wesselton tied-up in their house

“The couple refused and the suspects tied them up and searched the house until they found the keys,” he said.

ERMELO – A husband and his wife were awakened by voices in their house around 3:30 in Wesselton on November 10.

According to Col Sdumo Ngcobo, the station commander of Ermelo police, two unknown men were in their house.

“They grabbed the husband and wife and demanded the keys to their vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo.

“The couple refused and the suspects tied them up and searched the house until they found the keys,” he said.

The men took a laptop and cellphone and fled the scene.

According to Col Ngcobo, the vehicle was equipped with a tracking device which was activated.

The vehicle was recovered in Nelspruit and one suspect was arrested.

The stolen cellphones, laptop and an unlawful firearm were found in his possession.

Capt Carla Prinsloo, the spokesman of Ermelo police, said Ermelo police will investigate and launch a manhunt for the other suspect.
