CAROLINA – The police recently welcomed Capt Aubrey Mokoala as the station’s new visible policing commander.
Capt Mokoala believes that crime is a threat to our well-being, that it has no colour and that it affects all races.
Although he strongly feels that it is the police’s responsibility to protect the community, he added that crime can be more successfully fought through cooperation among the police, community members and sector forums.
“Gender-based violence is a thorn in the side and it is unacceptable for women and children to be abused by people who are supposed to be protecting them,” Capt Mokoala said.
He has been part of the police service for the past 23 years.
He joined in 1998 as a constable at Edenpark Police Station and was transferred to Boksburg in 2005 after his promotion to a sergeant.
In 2013 he worked at Tembisa and 2014 at the Kempton Park Corridor as a warrant officer.
Capt Mokoala was part of the Crime Information Management Centre in Ivory Park in 2016 before he was transferred to Carolina.
“I will always be available to assist the community in dealing with crime,” Capt Mokoala concluded.
