Classes suspended at Cebisa Secondary in Wesselton after an alleged gang-related fight
The march will start at Cebisa Secondary School at Phumula on May 24 at 08:00 from where protesters will head on over to the Ermelo Police Station and finally the Department of Education’s district office.
WESSELTON – Classes at Cebisa Secondary School were suspended until Monday, May 16 after six pupils were involved in an alleged gang-related fight on May 10 inside the school premises.
A member of the school’s governing body (SGB) who requested anonymity, told the Highvelder that the SGB and parents attended a meeting the same day as the fight and have agreed to protest over several issues at the school, including gangsterism and the school’s infrastructure.
“Teachers and students at this school are concerned about everything from infrastructure to security.
“We’ve had enough of putting our safety at risk, and we’re hopeful that our concerns will be heard by the relevant department by the end of this march.
