EFF Student Command wins the school representative council elections at GS College Ermelo

Mr Mahlathini said EFFSC had recently filed an appeal with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) on behalf of students who had yet to receive their food allowances.

ERMELO – The EFF Student Command (EFFSC) won all five chairs in the recent school representative council (SRC) elections at GS College’s Ermelo Campus.

According to Mr Mawande Mahlathini, the EFFSC branch’s chairman, the student command seeks to fulfil the pledges made in its manifesto, which include ensuring student safety on campus.

“We want to prioritise our students’ safety and build a suitable teaching and learning environment at GS College, where students will feel safe and secure. We will continue to campaign for the implementation of biometric gates and sufficient facilitation for our students,” Mr Mahlathini said.

He said they want students to be able to discern between now and the previous period under the South African Student Congress.

The EFFSC will serve for a year until the next SRC elections.

Mr Mahlathini said EFFSC had recently filed an appeal with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) on behalf of students who had yet to receive their food allowances.
