Man sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife.

BREYTEN – Mavuthela Vusi Natto Sibeko (49) was sentenced to life imprisonment plus seven years in the Breyten High Court on January 30 for the murder of his wife, Ncobile Pretty Manana, and contravention of the Firearms Control Act.
Sibeko pleaded guilty to both charges.
According to Monica Nyuswa, the National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) regional spokesperson, the court heard that Sibeko and Manana had been experiencing marital problems, which led to Manana leaving their home and returning to her parents’ residence in Hartebeeskop near Elukwatini.
“Sibeko drove to her parents’ home in an attempt to reconcile on October 12, 2024, and upon discovering she was visiting relatives, he followed her. During a discussion, an argument ensued and Sibeko drew his licensed firearm and shot Manana multiple times,” Nyuswa said.
