Two men arrested in connection with Carolina rape and murder

CAROLINA – Two men, aged 26 and 27, were apprehended by the local police at Groenvlei Farm, in connection with the rape and murder of a 45-year-old woman on February 28.
According to Sergeant Thabang Mokwana, the Carolina police’s spokesperson, the SAPS was dispatched to a crime scene at a back room on the farm on February 14.
“Upon arrival, the officers discovered the victim’s body on the floor. She was naked,” Mokwana said.
Her hands were tied across her chest with a tracksuit top, and a cloth was inserted into her mouth.
Despite the absence of visible injuries, the Carolina Emergency Medical Services declared the victim dead on the scene.
Following the discovery, murder and rape cases was opened and a thorough investigation was launched, leading to the two suspects’ arrest.
The men, who are now facing charges of rape and murder, made their first appearance in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The court outcome was not yet known by the time of going to press.
