ERMELO – Siyabonga Nicolas Nhleko (33) was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on February 21 for violating a protection order.
According to Captain Carla Prinsloo, spokesperson for the Ermelo police, the sentence stems from an incident on November 2, 2024, in which Nhleko assaulted his ex-girlfriend, who had a protection order against him.
Following the assault, Nhleko allegedly locked her inside his house, stating she could leave once her bruises had faded.
After he allowed her to leave, she reported the incident to the police and he was arrested shortly thereafter.
