A 29 year old man appears in Ermelo court for dagga possession
Operation Vala Umgodi stop-and-search in Ermelo resulted in the arrest of a man in possession of dagga.
ERMELO – A 29-year-old suspect appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, after being arrested for the illegal possession and selling of dagga.
The court outcome was unknown at the time of going to press.
The arrest was made by members of the proactive and combat team during Operation Vala Umgodi on May 12.

According to police reports, the team was conducting stop-and-search operations in the Ermelo area.
It was during one of these searches that the 29-year-old man was apprehended.
The suspect has been charged with the illegal possession of dagga with the intent to sell.
Operation Vala Umgodi is an ongoing initiative aimed at combatting illegal activities in the region.
