Man in Ermelo court for the rape of a minor

One of the men walked up to her and started a conversation. He forced her to a nearby house, dragged her inside, and raped her.

LOTHAIR – Sizwe James Mhlanga (30), who was out on parole, appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on September 9 on charges of rape and kidnapping a minor.

The case was postponed to September 23, for formal bail application, where he was remanded and the case postponed to November 11.

According to reports a 14-year-old girl was on her way home from church on August 31, when she saw two men at a local tuck shop.

One of them walked up to her and started a conversation. He forced her to a nearby house, dragged her inside, and raped her.

She went to her family for assistance, after the man let her go.

During the investigation, the victim managed to point out the crime scene and a witness, leading to the suspect’s positive identification.

It is alleged that the girl is mentally challenged.

The suspect was traced, arrested, and charged on September 4. He made his first court appearance on September 5.
