Lothair police investigate fatal shooting at Bonnie Braes Farm
Police arrived at the scene and found the victim lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head.
LOTHAIR – Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old man at Bonnie Braes Farm on December 29.
According to Lothair police spokesperson Constable Nkosingiphile Simelane, the perpetrators allegedly knocked on the victim’s window, claiming they had been sent by a friend.
The man then stepped outside to meet them.
Shortly afterwards, a series of gunshots rang out across the farm.
Police arrived at the scene and found the victim lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head.
Six spent cartridges were recovered.
Emergency Medical Services were and declared the man dead at the scene.
Simelane said the suspects allegedly fled on foot.
Local police and forensic experts were summoned to process the scene, and the victim’s body was transported to the Ermelo Forensic Pathology Department for a post-mortem examination.
Police are investigating.
