A manhunt was launched for the three suspects who fled the scene.

The carcasses were seized as evidence. The two men appeared before the Mayflower Magistrate’s Court on March 27, facing charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen stock.

Police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo issued a stern warning to the public regarding the secondary market for stolen livestock.

“Purchasing stolen stock is a serious criminal offence, as it directly feeds the market for criminals,” Masondo stated.

Police urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious livestock movements.
