Operation Paseka targets road safety, illegal liquor, and serious crime

Operation Paseka aimed to reduce crime and road fatalities with roadblocks, stop-and-searches, and patrols across national, regional, and municipal roads.

Authorities also targeted illegal liquor outlets, arresting 209 suspects, and recovered 11 shotguns, three rifles, 88 rounds of ammunition, and 22 other dangerous weapons.

  • Rape: 29
  • Assault GBH: 167
  • Drug dealing: 68
  • Possession of drugs: 82
