ACSU guards detain suspected shoplifter at local shopping centre

ACSU guards apprehended a woman allegedly attempting to steal clothing worth R6 000. A case has been opened.

A woman was recently apprehended by ACSU security guards at Oak Mall after allegedly attempting to steal clothing valued at about R6 000 from a retail store.

According to Bester Maree of ACSU, staff members at the clothing store alerted security personnel after the suspect allegedly exited the shop without paying for the items.

Security guards reportedly pursued and apprehended the woman shortly afterwards.

The stolen clothing was recovered and the incident was reported to police. The store has since opened a criminal case for further investigation.
