Piet Retief SAPS confiscates 25kg of dagga during police operation
Five men were arrested after police allegedly found dagga worth more than R153 000 during a late-night stop-and-search operation on the N2 near Mahamba.
PIET RETIEF – Mahamba police arrested five men on the N2 after discovering dagga worth over R153 000 during a stop-and-search operation on May 20.
According to police, members were carrying out routine crime prevention duties at approximately 22:15 when they stopped and searched a white Toyota Venture with KwaZulu-Natal license plates travelling towards Newcastle.

During the search, officers allegedly discovered 15 packages of dagga with an estimated combined weight of 25.5kg.
Five suspects, aged between 30 and 34, were arrested at the scene and charged with possession and dealing in dagga.
