Ermelo police confiscate diesel in suspected illegal fuel operation
Diesel, a fuel storage tank and dispensing equipment were confiscated after police uncovered a suspected illegal fuel operation at a residential property in Ermelo.

ERMELO – Police confiscated diesel, a fuel storage tank and a fuel dispensing hose after uncovering a suspected illegal fuel operation at a residential property on June 30.
According to Sergeant Thulisile Magagula, the provincial police spokesperson, officers were conducting patrols at about 08:30 when they noticed suspicious activity at a property in Ermelo.
“Preliminary investigations indicated that the premises were allegedly being used for the illegal storage and the sale of diesel and firewood within a residential area,” said Magagula.
Police called the relevant role players to the scene to conduct inspections, after which an official enquiry was registered for further investigation.
The SAPS urged the community to report suspicious activities that may assist police investigations.
