Horster Road in Ermelo gets resurfaced

According to Mandla Zwane, the municipality's spokesperson, there was a need to resurface the road from the traffic light to Chris de Villiers Street, as it provides easy access for community members who reside in the area between Ext 32, 33 and 34, and town.

ERMELO – The Msukaligwa Local Municipality, in conjunction with the Gert Sibande District Municipality and Msobo Coal Mine, recently took action in Horster Road to resurface the road.

According to Mandla Zwane, the municipality’s spokesperson, there was a need to resurface the road from the traffic light to Chris de Villiers Street, as it provides easy access for community members who reside in the area between Ext 32, 33 and 34, and town.

The road is also used daily by parents and teachers from the nearby school, who expressed their frustrations with the dire state of it.

“The Gert Sibande District Municipality funded R3.5m for procuring materials and for hiring fleet, while Msukaligwa Local Municipality co-funded R798 000 for the procurement of additional asphalt for the street to be resurfaced,” Zwane said.
