Millions spent on road expansion in Ermelo near Boxer Centre

The scope of work entailed the upgrading of OR Tambo Street by constructing two additional lanes from the N11 traffic lights up until about 200m after the intersection of Albert Luthuli Road, as well as to construct a traffic circle at the intersection of OR Tambo Street and Mandela Drive.

WESSELTON – Msukaligwa Local Municipality hired a contractor to undertake Wesselton’s Ext 3 road extension on March 29.

At the time, the municipality’s spokesperson, Mandla Zwane, said the project’s objectives were to improve the local area’s road infrastructure and ensure that traffic congestion was decreased.

With only one lane available, drivers are compelled to squeeze past one another.
