Early childhood development educators armed with firefighting information

WOF has been targeting and working with schools in fire-prone areas to mitigate against fire hazards.

ERMELO – Twenty-two early childhood development (ECD) educators from the Gert Sibande District attended a fire safety workshop hosted by Working on Fire (WOF) Mpumalanga in collaboration with the Department of Education, Msukaligwa Local Municipality, and the Ermelo team’s base partner, Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue.

WOF’s fire awareness department rolled out the ECD workshops across the provinces to highlight the WOF programme, to promote the understanding of fire safety and fire awareness, to showcase the importance of fire awareness at schools and to strengthen stakeholder relations.

WOF has been targeting and working with schools in fire-prone areas to mitigate against fire hazards.

It has reached many schools and communities with key fire awareness messages, and now, WOF aims to spread the message to even more communities and learners.

WOF’s community fire awareness officer, Estella Cossa, led the workshop in the Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue boardroom.
