BREAKING NEWS: One person dies after light aircraft crashes outside Ermelo

Circumstances around the crash is still under investigation.

ERMELO – A light aircraft crashed earlier this morning, January 27, outside Ermelo.

The accident is being investigated, and information regarding the accident is still vague.

According to Captain Carla Prinsloo, spokesperson for Ermelo police, the accident occurred at about 07:00, shortly after the pilot took off.

Civil aviation has been notified and local SAPS are also investigating the incident.

“Preliminary information indicates that the pilot was underway from Bethlehem to Malawi,” Prinsloo said.
