Ermelo community urged to unite in prayer for rain

Councillor JJ Scholtz calls on Ermelo residents to join a community-wide prayer initiative for rain this Sunday, December 8.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor for Ward 7, JJ Scholtz, has issued a heartfelt appeal to the Ermelo and Msukaligwa community, urging residents to unite in prayer amid the ongoing drought affecting the area.

All churches and places of worship are invited to participate in a special prayer initiative on Sunday morning, December 8.

The aim is to pray for much-needed rainfall for the Douglas Dam, Brummer Dam, and surrounding areas, which supply water to the region’s Northern reservoirs.

“The dry conditions have placed immense pressure on our farming community and town. This is an opportunity for us to come together in faith and pray for rain to bring relief,” Scholtz said.
