3 workouts for when you can’t get to the gym this festive season

If you've missed a gym session but would still like to work those muscles at home, try one of these.

Have you skipped days at the gym? Think you going to skip more? Don’t stress, you’re not the only one.

Those were rhetorical questions, as you may have guessed, but the answers are probably yes and yes.

Fitness guru and pilates and Yoga instructor, Phil Joffe, has three exercise routines to keep you moving, even on those days when you don’t feel like it.

The routines may be two decades old, but the thing about exercise is that it never goes out of fashion.

He was the face of the fitness programme on TV called Body Beat which was popular in the late 80s and most of the 90s.

The retired media studies and literature lecturer now teaches pilates and Yoga at Fit24 in Durban North among other fitness things.

“The festivities, going on holiday and the like may get in the way of your gym routine, but we are in an era where tutorials are at our fingertips. YouTube is a great resource. Keep moving,” he said.
