Nal’ibali celebrates Read Aloud Month in Ermelo and Breyten

Nal'ibali's mascot, Noodle, had a busy and exciting World Read Aloud Day at the schools.

ERMELO – Nal’ibali, in partnership with Nzambenang Productions, brought the joy of reading aloud to several schools in Ermelo and Breyten on February 5 as part of their Read Aloud Month 2025 celebrations.

The initiative this year, which aims to promote a culture of reading beyond World Read Aloud Day, is themed ‘Creating positive experiences for children through reading and stories’.

Nal’ibali’s mascot, Noodle, had a busy and exciting World Read Aloud Day at the schools.

His first stop was Laerskool Breyten, where he joined Msukaligwa LIS, Nzambenang Productions, parents, grandparents, teachers and 602 enthusiastic learners.

After a read-aloud session, the children pledged to participate in the Nal’ibali library reading programme.

Noodle’s second event at Khonzakahle Primary School in Breyten was met with equal enthusiasm.

Nzambenang Productions entertained the learners, parents and teachers with a dramatisation of the story What is That?
Noodle concluded his tour at Summerfield Private School in Ermelo, where the children and teachers read the story aloud to the rest of the school, before Nzambenang performed the story for them.

All the children enjoyed seeing the story come to life.
