Goodwill Thomo goes from Chrissiesmeer to TikTok stratosphere

Authenticity and consistency, is what Thomo attributes his large following on TikTok and Instagram to.

CHRISSIESMEER – Goodwill Thomo, born in Ermelo and raised in Chrissiesmeer, has made his mark in the fast-paced world of digital media, with over 130 000 TikTok followers and a thriving career as an entertainment commentator and influencer.

Growing up there, Thomo faced challenges like poverty and limited access to resources.

“While Chrissiesmeer may not have been the most developed place, it had a significant impact on me, shaping my character and driving me to work hard,” Thomo said.

He attended preschool at Chrissiesmeer and began schooling at Kwachibikhulu Primary in 2003.

Thomo attended Lake Chrissie Secondary School from 2010 to 2014, where he completed his matric.

His journey began with a love of storytelling.

“In primary school, I was always talkative, and people often told me I should pursue a career in journalism.”

Inspired by the lives most TV characters lived, and wanting that for himself, he found motivation in his tough background despite the struggles he faced growing up.

Thomo’s advice to aspiring content creators is simple: “Stay authentic, be consistent, and engage with your audience.”
