Beyond the bell – nominate your Ermelo teaching hero

We are calling on all schools, learners, and parents across Ermelo to nominate their favourite teacher, whose story will be published in the newspaper.

Every successful community is built on strong foundations, and in Ermelo, many of those foundations are laid daily within our school classrooms.

Highvelder is thrilled to launch a brand-new feature, ‘Beyond the Bell’, designed to shine a much-deserved spotlight on the everyday heroes that give so much to shaping the future.

We are calling on all schools, learners, and parents across Ermelo to nominate their favourite teacher, whose story will be published in the newspaper.

We know that behind every thriving learner, there’s often an inspiring teacher who ignited a spark, fostered a love of learning, or provided unwavering support in a time of need.

‘Beyond the Bell’ aims to celebrate these teachers who:
• Inspire children to dream bigger and reach higher.
• Make a difference in their learners’ lives, often in ways that extend far beyond the classroom.
• Possess a passion for education, seeing it not just as a job, but a calling, whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or with other extracurricular activities.
• Consistently go the extra mile.

Starting June 20 and continuing weekly until October, we will feature a nominated teacher in our newspaper, sharing their stories and the impact they have on their learners.

How to nominate your Teaching Hero:
Send an email to news@highvelder.co.za and include the following:
1. The full name of the teacher.
2. The name of the school where they teach.
3. Your name and contact details.
4. Most importantly: A brief motivation explaining why this teacher deserves to be featured. Tell us how they inspire, make a difference, or go the extra mile.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
