DA launches blanket drive to support Ermelo’s most vulnerable

DA launches winter blanket drive in Ermelo to support vulnerable children and the elderly. Donations close 12 July.

As part of its 25th anniversary commemorations, the Democratic Alliance (DA) has launched a winter blanket drive to assist vulnerable children and elderly residents at the old-age home in Ermelo.

Public, businesses and schools urged to contribute

The campaign officially began on July 1 and calls on members of the public, local businesses, schools, and community organisations to donate new or used blankets.

The goal is to collect as many as possible to provide much-needed relief during the Highveld’s harsh winter.

Ermelo Toyota has offered its showroom as the official drop-off point. A Toyota Hilux, stationed inside the dealership, will be used to display the accumulating donations.

The DA is calling on residents to unite behind the cause.

More than a celebration, focusses on social impact

While the campaign coincides with the party’s milestone birthday, the DA has emphasised that the initiative is focused on social impact rather than celebration.

Donations can be delivered directly to Ermelo Toyota during business hours.

Every contribution, no matter how small, has the potential to make a meaningful difference.

The final opportunity to contribute is Saturday, 12 July at 10:00, when DA members will be present at Ermelo Toyota to conclude the collection effort.
