Cassim Park water crisis unresolved for over a month

Cassim Park residents urge the municipality to fix a leaking pipe and open manhole endangering children.

ERMELO – Frustration is mounting in Cassim Park as residents witness clean drinking water gushing down Bangalia Street due to a persistent leak that has lasted for more than a month.

Highvelder previously reported on the issue, and was recently informed again that

nothing has been done to address the situation.

Adding to their worries is an open manhole, filled with water, just metres away.

“This poses a significant safety risk, particularly to the numerous children who walk past it on their way to and from the nearby Ermelo Combined School,” one of the residents told the newspaper.

They fear that a child could easily stumble or fall into the obscured opening, potentially leading to serious injury.
