Two bakkies involved in separate late-night accidents in Ermelo
Late Saturday evening, two separate vehicle accidents near Ermelo required police and towing services to respond.
ERMELO – Two unrelated vehicle accidents occurred near Ermelo on Saturday evening, prompting a swift response from local police, Community Policing Forum (CPF) members, and towing services.
Woman hospitalised after bakkie overturns
The first accident took place at around 22:30, when a bakkie overturned and landed on its roof alongside the road. When Highvelder arrived at the scene, the vehicle was lying on its roof with a woman nearby, appearing visibly distressed and in pain.
A private vehicle arrived and transported her to the hospital. The extent of her injuries was unknown at the time of publication.
The cause of the accident remains unclear.

Bakkie crashes off embankment near Acacia Bridge
At around the same time, a second accident was reported on the N2 near the Acacia Bridge, just outside Ermelo.
Another bakkie reportedly crashed through a guardrail and plunged down a steep embankment before coming to a stop.
Police attended the scene, but no injuries had been confirmed at the time of going to press.
