Women’s Month celebrated with health and leadership focus in Ermelo
GSDM celebrated Women’s Month with a picnic in Ermelo, focusing on empowerment, leadership, and health awareness for female employees.
ERMELO – Female employees and councillors came together at AJ Swanepoel Stadium on August 15 for the Gert Sibande District Municipality’s (GSDM) Women’s Employee Picnic.
Held under the theme “Be Your Sister’s Keeper”, the event highlighted women’s leadership, wellness, and community support during Women’s Month.

Keynote speaker Flora Maboa-Boltman encouraged women to pursue leadership roles while uplifting others along the way.
The Speaker of the Council and other female councillors attended to show solidarity and support.

The picnic also featured wellness and health-focused activities, including informative presentations and on-site services provided by Clicks Clinic and other partners.
“The Women’s Employee Picnic was not only a celebration of Women’s Month but also a clear reflection of GSDM’s values of care, empowerment and community building,” said GSDM spokesperson Bongi Ka Dube.
