To celebrate this milestone, the NPSS staff organised a touching surprise for Griffiths.
They gathered to form a guard of honor, each person holding a pink balloon to symbolise solidarity and hope.
Griffiths, visibly moved by the gesture, released her pink balloon into the sky as a symbol of her journey into remission.
Griffiths shared a heartfelt message with her colleagues. “NPSS principal, educators and all staff – all I can say is you’re simply the best,” she said.
“Thank you for this amazing surprise this morning, thank you for your support and for just being there for me.”
