CALM sweeps top Fire and Rescue Honours at SALGA Awards
The municipality was crowned the Best Municipality in Fire and Rescue Services and Fire and Rescue Services By-laws.
CAROLINA – The Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality (CALM) recently received two top awards at the South African Local Government Association (Salga) Provincial Assembly, held at Graceland Hotel.
The municipality was crowned the Best Municipality in Fire and Rescue Services and Fire and Rescue Services By-laws.
“The award is a significant achievement, reflecting the municipality’s dedicated efforts in key areas such as financial management, service delivery, institutional governance, and public participation,” said CALM spokesperson Thapelo Phetla.
He added that the recognition underscores the positive impact of the municipality’s work on the daily lives of its residents.
“This win is not just an award for the council; it is a victory for every resident of our municipality. It is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together with our communities, focusing on accountability, transparency and a shared vision for progress.”
The municipality dedicated the award to the community and staff, vowing to use the recognition as a springboard for even greater achievements in the future.
