Six injured after Opel bakkie and Toyota Corolla collision in Ermelo
Four of the injured were reportedly seated on the back of the bakkie, while the driver and a passenger were also taken to hospital.
ERMELO – A collision between a Opel bakkie and a Toyota Corolla occurred earlier today at the intersection of Strijdom and President Fouché Street.
The cause of the accident is unclear.
Preliminary reports indicate that six people were injured in the crash, all from the bakkie.

The injured include the driver and a passenger, as well as four people who were seated on the back of the bakkie.
The extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Emergency services, including Ermelo Towing Services, Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue Service, and local police, responded to the scene to assist.

Police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution when approaching the intersection.
*** An earlier version of this article incorrectly identified the bakkie as a Nissan. The confusion arose after a Nissan-branded centre cap was found detached at the scene. The vehicle has since been confirmed as an Opel Corsa Utility. We apologise for the error and any confusion caused.
